Troop 50 2005 Summer Camp Report
75 Years of Summer Camp at
Worth Ranch
"THE BIG ADVENTURE"
Troop 50 once again spent another exciting week at Worth Ranch for
Summer Camp. The week was hot and dry with just a couple of showers
and thunderstorms popping up during the week. There were a total of 27
young men and 6 full time adults with 2 part time adults that attended the
week. Family night was another success, with over 50 family members
coming out to enjoy the Family Night supper under the Pavilion, the Order
of the Arrow Callouts and the Family Night Campfire. The following is a list
of Troop 50's achievements for the week.

Advancements
Scout: Jacques DeJean, Austin Somers
Second Class: John Boyd
First Class: John Boyd, John Menger
Star: John Neidigk

Merit Badges
80 merit badges were taken
56 merit badges were completed

Miscellaneous
3 Snorkeling badges were earned
2 young men completed Hammer Patrol
30 youth and adults spent the night out under the stars on Kyle Mountain
and watched the sunrise to earn the coveted "Kyle Mountain Sunrise"
award
2 adults completed the "Society of Old Buzzard" requirements
The "Worth Ranch Wrangler Award" was achieved by the troop for the
first time in 2 years
2 adults completed the Youth Protection course
2 youth completed the requirements for their "Captain Kidd Crewman" by
doing 6 hours of conservation work each
9 youth completed their "Totin Chip"
2 youth completed their "Fireman Chit"

Order of the Arrow
3 new members were called out into the OA they are
John Neidigk, Zach Riney and Tom Schech

Campfire Awards
The following 9 young men were picked by their counselors as tops in
their classes
