Baked Apples

6 to 8 apples, cored
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup cinnamon red hot candy
1/4 cup raisins

 

Core the apples and stuff with the mixture of sugar,
raisins and red hots. Place the apples in a shallow pan
with 3/4 inches of water in the bottom. Place this pan in
the dutch oven on 3 tinfoil balls to keep the apple pan
3/4 to 1 inch above the bottom of the oven. Pile any left
over sugar mixture on top of the apples. Bake in a
moderate oven (350* F), coals on top and bottom of
oven. Cook for about 30 minutes or until the apples are
soft and the sugar melted.
